Ayman Helmy

Board Member

With over 40 years of distinguished experience in the banking sector, including more than 28 years in financial markets and 12 years in corporate credit and auditing, Ayman has built a career defined by strategic vision, financial acumen, and leadership excellence. His expertise spans investment strategy, economic analysis, negotiation, communication, and management of local and international fixed-income and equity portfolios.

A graduate of Ain Shams University (B.Com, 1986), he also holds Credit (1996) and Investment (1999) Diplomas from the American University in Cairo. He further advanced his expertise through professional programs with UBS Asset Management and UBS Investment Bank in the UK (2005), the World Bank in the US (2007), UBS University (2009), and JP Morgan (2010).

Throughout his career, he has represented Egyptian banks in numerous international conferences and workshops organized by institutions such as IKMA, HVB UniCredito Italiano, UBS Asset Management, Wellington, State Street Global Advisors, Allianz, JP Morgan, and BNY Mellon–Cambridge University.

He currently serves as Managing Director & CEO of Misr Capital, overseeing equity, and investment product management divisions. Previously, he was Head of Coverage and Executive Committee Member at Misr Capital, where he achieved significant growth in assets under management and led the Central Bank of Egypt’s equity portfolio to top performance among its peers. Earlier roles include Assistant General Manager for Financial Markets at the Arab International Bank, where he successfully managed multi-asset portfolios exceeding USD 1 billion.

Throughout his leadership journey, he has delivered sustained returns, disciplined risk management, and strategic asset allocation results, earning board and supervisory roles in several key investment and real-estate companies affiliated with Banque Misr. His career reflects a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and advancing Egypt’s investment capabilities on both local and global fronts.
